Chud Systems Recent News and Notices

  • GnuPG has been updated to the just-released 1.4.0 version. Unless you use some of the very rare options, the change should be transparent, but please let us know if you run into any problems. Also note that use of the MD5 hash is now deprecated; it will continue to be supported for sometime undoubtedly, but it would be a good idea to start moving away from it if you still use it.

  • We've generally re-worked a bunch of the HTML on the site. Mostly this is behind-the-scenes cleanup and shouldn't be noticed by most people, but if you find bugs, as always please send us mail.

  • Spam handling: We are now rejecting spam based on the RBL lists at spamhaus.org. Senders should get an error message explaining this, though this list seems to be pretty good at staying up to date and avoiding false positives.

  • Note: Home directory default file protections are too restrictive to allow the web server to read your public_html directory if you have one. If you want to serve a home page using the format http://www.chud.net/~username then you need to change /home/*you* such that (o)ther users have e(x)ecute access to it. Use: chmod 711 /home/USERNAME where USERNAME is you, or email to support and we'll do it for you.
